$195: SIGERSON MORRISON FLATS for CLUB MONACO

This seems worth checking out, I mean, why not?:

SIGERSON MORRISON for CLUB MONACO

Club Monaco introduced its first shoe collaboration with Belle by Sigerson Morrison available in stores now.

The collection consists of the classic ballet flat available in five colors: black patent leather, sand Italian leather, natural embossed snakeskin and latte embossed snakeskin. New colors will be introduced in July.

Club Monaco’s design team worked with the Italian artisans at Belle by Sigerson Morrison to craft a flat that embodies both the urban essence of the Club Monaco brand and the design aesthetic and expertise of Belle by Sigerson Morrison.

Together they created an exclusive collection; available at the following Club Monaco stores:
  • New York: 6 West 57th Street, 160 Fifth Avenue, 1111 Third Avenue and 520 Broadway
  • LA: 401 N. Beverly Drive
  • Toronto: Toronto Eaton Center
  • Montreal: Les Cours Mont-Royal
  • Vancouver: 1034-1042 Robson Street
They retail for $195.

Cynthia Steffe Barbie Dress for Grownups...

...with peek-a-boo parts in eye-catching cobalt is part of the Cynthia Steffe Fall 2010 collection hitting stores in late June for $255. The touch-me, feel-me Mongolian curly lamb vest in wine is a scene-stealer. Retailing at $625, it is a costly addition, but an instant conversation starter. Wear with caution. It may compel
complete strangers to fondle the fur. Oh Fur!

May 5: Lafayette 148 Sample Sale -- Plus Sizes, Petites and Price-Conscious Peeps...

...should mark May 5th for the Lafayette 148 sample sale. Mo'Nique wore a smokin' Lafayette 148 dress for her New York Times cover story. My friend Michelle did a little web-window shopping pre-sale. She "saw a dress to wear on a hot date, a dress to wear on a lukewarm date and a, 'Dude, let's just go dutch,' dress."
True sample sale prices.

Report from the Front: Wendy Mink Sample Sale

Nancy Brenner brings GS back to life, post-vacay:

Confession: Rarely do I pay retail, but Wendy Mink is a purveyor of such delicately individualized pieces - bracelets, earrings and necklaces, that I even drop by the comfortable artsy boutique in between official sample sales succombing to irresistible retail wares.

I spied pieces starting at $15 and a gold cuff bracelet I coveted earlier in the season slashed to $50. Shoppers called all day in anticipation of the sample sale that started at noon.

Head there for first section of designs in striking shades of red or turquoise, bringing out the color of your eyes or the hue of your dress at prices that won't pop your purse.

Worst side effect: strangers will ask you where you bought your jewelry.  You can decide if you want to share the intel, keep it to yourself, or tell them you bagged it at Bergdorf.

A $10,800 Diamond Headband for Your Wedding?

Perhaps Nancy should change her last name from Brenner to Kleinfeld?...
Get me a crash cart. My pulse is racing from these "steals" at Gilt.com's wedding blowout where they're selling gowns and accessories at prices for princesses, or maybe Snooki (but it may mess up her bump or pouf). It's a bargain reduced from $24,000.

If you're in New York, head to The Bridal Garden You don't go to there for the white-glove service, but for quality gowns and prices for real people - the sample rack for $400 and less Or, for bigger budgets, my friend plucked out a designer Rina di Montella reduced by 50 percent and then an additional 20 percent off for at total of only $1,750.

If you want a real fitting room, and racks crammed with selections, make an appointment and walk out with a dream dress.

Fishoes...by Red Bull

This "fishoe" is one reason I am happy I live in New York, and not in Miami.  It was one of many stellar creations featured at the "Red Bull Art of Can" show going on now in South Beach that my friends got to witness.  I guess everything there was made out of Red Bull cans.  I mean, it's kind of entertaining, but it also totally figures.

Best Buffed Men in NY...

...spend nooners at the Leather Spa where their bespoke shoes are polished to perfection.

This shop is is lined with tell-tale red soled Louboutins and exudes eau de exotic leather. A woman with a mink caplet and matching headband dropped off her boots for full treatment. My six-year + Barneys warehouse sale Prada boots looked like they would be in good hands. I also left a leather lambskin lasercut cut skirt with a rip (don't even ask how that happened). The results: the boots look like they never touched a sidewalk and the skirt - well if you can see where the original tear was - you are standing way too close to me.

If Dorothy's ruby reds needed a spit shine, she'd head to The Leather Spa. Expect to pay more than your neighborhood taps and heels guy, but this is the place if you need a little leather Botox, 10 West 55th St.

The Ugliest Shoe Ever...By Christian Louboutin

I just got an email from Saks announcing the new Spring arrivals from Christian Louboutin, and this was the pictured shoe.  I realize that it's easy to make fun of white shoes, but COME ON.  These are hideous in ANY color, but particularly white.  I think I just got kicked off the demo chart.

Mad for a Maxi?

Try the Mermaid with an exposed pinched zipper that will display your assets. The freshman contemporary cool line called 2 Rych b stands out from a sea of maxis for its first Fall 2010 debut at the at Coterie
last week.

For snow days or play dates, this wool/cashmere is a scorcher. You may need to dig into your Spanx for this mermaid - or buy a new Skinny britches pair to go with.  Other picks: a standout snuggly sweater in wine for next winter.
