I love Nike

Of all the sneakers out there, I have decided that I like Nike the best. They are comfy and stylish - in the gym or just walking around the mean streets of NYC. Especially these bad boys that I picked up at DSW this weekend. DSW doesn't mark down sneakers much - and they rarely even carry Nike's. However, I had a $20 off coupon so it was a sound economic decision. And besides, I love them. Yay.

Eco Friendly Nike Zoom MVP Trash Talk All Star Game

I got kind of the oddest email I've gotten in a while from http://www.osneaker.com/. It's about some new sneakers that I guess they are selling online. So here it is, unedited:

Nike Zoom MVP Trash Talk All Star Game Player Exclusive.
This pair was made especially for Steve Nash of the Phoenix Suns. One of its strong features is the usage of environmentally friendly material. It was created using recycled Nike materials from left over sneaker scraps. Nike shoes have carried a very strong emphasis on eco awareness, and this awareness has lead to a sneaker collection in honor of Steve Nash. The Nike Zoom MYP Trash Talk All Star Game Player Exclusive is limited to 72 pairs and was released in honor of the 2009 NBA All-Star Game set to take place in Phoenix, Arizona.

Gotta Go to Mo's

OK, it's neither fancy nor fabulous but I have decided that when it comes down to buying sneakers in NYC, Modell's is the joint. Mainly because they have the best deals and you can join their rewards club to get money off and special deals, etc. And today I bought this pair of Nike Edge for $39.99, so zipadeedooda.

Trash Talk...by Nike

OK, how cool are these by the way?

BY RIMA SUQI
Nike's latest basketball-shoe collaboration will surprise many. Not because of its player affiliation—in this case, Phoenix Suns All-Star guard Steve Nash—but because of the materials used. The Trash Talk shoe is made entirely of recycled materials—manufacturing waste, to be exact: everything from the scrap-leather upper to the scrap-ground-foam midsole to the environmentally preferred rubber outsole. The whole thing is packaged in a fully recyclable cardboard box. And though not available in the rest of the states until April 22, you can score a pair in the city now. He shoots, he scores.
$100 at House of Hoops by Foot Locker, 268 W. 125th St., nr. Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Blvd.; 212-316-1667.
