Rug Sale at Stickley Audi & Co: Oct 2-5

This week Stickley Audi is having a 5-day rug sale in Manhattan (207 W. 25th St.) and White Plains (50 Tarrytown Rd.), 50-70% off retail. This may mean that they are $10,000 instead of $20,000, but come on now! Wall Street bankers need a break! :)~

The Stickley Furniture Challenge

At long last my furniture from Stickley Audi was to arrive last Thursday. I took the morning off of work, pushed the old furniture (that I still haven't managed to rid myself of) aside and prepped for the arrival of my new family members. And then the call came in, "The driver broke his thumb, we can't come today."

Sigh...Such build up, and such a let down. BUT all was not lost, for they promised to come the next day, which they did and...

...the loveseat/sleeper sofa would not fit through the door. Not horizontally, not vertically, not diagonally. Solution #1: The feet had to be removed. Unfortunately solution number one did not appear to be the solution. The door knob was still in the way. But the devoted delivery guys - one with a broken thumb - managed to lift the seat of love up over the knob and eventually put it in its rightful place in the living room.

I am so loving my new furniture. I will be loving it even more once I can unload my old furniture (if you want a futon/loveseat, wicker recliner or speaker stands, please let me know!) and manipulate the feng shui to my liking.

STICKLEY Furniture: Winter Sale

It may not be known to the public yet, but the Stickley Furniture winter sale has begun right about now. I know this because while I have not bought clothes for weeks upon weeks, I have been intently researching and purchasing furniture and other related items to upgrade my living space. I am also buying additional renter's insurance (as you should if you don't have it! Call the Cafarelli Agency in Smithtown, NY at 631-543-6363 NOW! Seriously, it's cheap and can save your financial life should something like, say, a FIRE destroys your home).

So I traipsed on over to the new-ish NYC location on W. 25th St. right off of 7th Avenue and met with my man Kevin. I am the soon to be proud owner of a new Metropolitan bookcase (see photo) sleeper chair-and-a-half, as well as a recliner covered in upholstery that took me no less than an hour to pick out. And while this stuff is in no way cheap and barely verging on affordable, it is great quality and SO FRIGGING NICE. And with the current sale going on, you really can't go wrong. Oh, and if you want to get an extra 5 percent off, find someone you know who is an interior decorator or architect to send them a note requesting a "professional discount." I did!
