Shoes and Boots and Gloves! Oh My!

Hi y'all, I have two sample/warehouse sales for ya:

1. Delman - Yes, everyone's conservative-and-overpriced shoe brand is having a shoe & boot warehouse sale (60-70% off retail) starting Weds. Nov. 19 thru Fri. Nov. 21, from 10 a.m. - 7 p.m. at the Metropolitan Pavilion, 123 W. 18th St., 4th Fl. (between 6th & 7th Aves.). Fall '08 merch. Credit cards accepted. All sales final.

2. Portolano - Started yesterday, but runs through Fri. Nov. 21. Go to 15 W. 37th St. (11th Floor) and get yourself some new leather gloves - the selection is huge. The prices are OK. Credit cards accepted. All sales final.

Delman Shoes Sample Sale: Nov. 1-3

It's that time of year for the overcrowded, overpriced Delman sample sale. But I know lots of you are into that kind of thing, so...

Delman Sample Sale

When: Thurs., Nov. 1 - Sat., Nov. 3; 10 a.m. - 7 p.m.

Where: Metropolitan Pavilion, 125 West 18th St., 4th Floor (between 6th - 7th Aves.)

What: Fall and Winter 2007 styles. All sizes.

Be warned: No strollers or large bags. All items must be checked before entering

Payment options: AmEx, MC, Visa & CASH. No checks.

Delman (shoes) Sample Sale: May 16-18

I know I have trashed it before, but it has moved to a new location and may be worth checking out...the Delman sample sale.

Wednesday - Friday, May 16-18

Check it out for spring/summer and special pre-fall styles. Major credit cards and cash accepted.

No strollers or large bags. All items must be checked before entering sale venue, so leave the dog and kids at home.

Delman Sample Sale, Nov. 7 - 9

Today, tomorrow and the next day is the Delman (shoes) sample sale at 730 Fifth Avenue @57th St. (8th Floor). They take cash and credit cards.

It is insane in there.

For the uninitiated, Delman shoes have mostly classic designs, are decent quality and VERY expensive. So while they are cheaper than usual, I still couldn't get excited about spending $99 - $150 for one pair of flats, especially since there are hundreds of women knocking each other over all over the floor, lunging for shoes in stacks of boxes. They also make you check your bag and coat at the door, grrrr....

HOWEVER! If you are feeling like an ultimate guerilla (especially if you are a size 6.5 or 9 - there is a special section of $60 samples), my suggestion is to go there without a bag or a coat (it's warm today!) - not during lunchtime - put your head down, and dive in. And make sure you are in a really good mood too.
