Devora Libin Jewels' publicist reached out to me regarding their latest collection.  It's rare to get pitched something this good by a PR person. And I should know, since I have been one for longer than I will admit. 

I am a huge fan of classy punk rock style.  And these pieces are the embodiment of that.  You can slip in and out of conventional society undetected, until someone looks closely, of course. 

The pictures tell the story, but just so you know, this stuff is super high-quality. And I really dig the glittering crystal pave beads and Swarovski crystal detailed skulls.  There are skull necklaces and earrings available online too, although wearing ALL skull jewelry at once might be overkill.  So check out the handcuff and pistol pieces to break up the monotony!

Gold Skull Lariat from Howell

I went to the Renegade Craft Fair in Williamsburg on June 6 & 7.
It was a swell time, I ran into people, tried to win the giant stuffed moustache (and didn't). And I didn't buy a thing. However, one item stuck in my head...and this is it: skulls-on-chain.

From Laura of Howell, the piece is made of vermeil (either 14k rose gold, 14k gold, and/or gunmetal), which means sterling silver electroplated with those precious metals. It measures 38 inches.

She is selling the pieces at Charlotte Ronson, and although she does not have e-commerce on her site, people can always buy by emailing her at info@howelljewelry.com.

Her site should be up within the next week or two and will include images of about 20 different pieces that you can order from her directly via email.

Skull & Bead Necklace: Purchasing Update

I went to the Cherry Tavern on E. 6th St. the other night for my friend's birthday. I almost immediately noticed and photographed her new Skull 'n' Bead necklace that a guy at MAC just gave to her when she admired it! And then I admired it...and now you can admire it! We are working on getting the "maker's" contact info so you can go out and get one yourself.

Chocolate Skulls

OK, I have to admit that this comes wholly from Daily Candy Chicago, but I had to spread the word to New York, as these SKULLS can be ordered online. What could be better than a regular skull for Halloween? Well a CHOCOLATE skull of course!

SKULLS! At Pottery Barn?

OK so first of all isn't it way too early to be selling Halloween gear? Anyway, one of my stringers discovered that Pottery Barn is selling SKULLWARE this year and thought that was a little bit odd. I must agree, these skulls are not of the "cute happy dancing skeleton" variety, but more along the lines of the MISFITS (see pic.), which isn't exactly what you think of when you think of the furniture store that outfitted the Friends' set.

Anyway, go to Pottery Barn online and get your $10 SKULL candles while you can!
