Skip the Zoloft and Score a Custo: Custo Barcelona for Women & Men
No cookie cutters at Custo. If Lady Gaga wore hoodies, T-shirts, or dresses that didn't have cut-outs everywhere, she'd be sporting this line's splashy looks. Head downstairs to the one-of-a-kind sample room where both women & men can find vintage and current pieces - check out the raincoat rack - nothing like it in the city! Shopping here is like going to a hip day spa that happens to sell feel happy clothes. If you're a supermodel, or want people to think you are one - there are size 9 runway boots that rocked the catwalk. THERE IS NO DRESSING ROOM. That didn't stop people from stripping at this co-ed sale. Dress accordingly. Check out Searle which carries the line. Hoodies slashed from over $100 to $39. T-shirts $29. Fun and affordable.

"School" Shopping: Madewell & Metal Pointus
But perhaps as important, I have two new tidbits to impart:
1. If you want some kickass v-neck T-shirts that come in excellent T-Shirt colors and are as soft as you like, go to Madewell (486 Broadway), where they are offering two-for-$30. My only issue is that they are marketing them as "the 'boyfriend' T." This angle is now officially annoying. Everywhere I look, "the boyfriend blazer," "the boyfriend sweater," "the boyfriend flannel.." OK, we get it, the oversized look is back! Additionally, there's something un-feminist about the whole idea. "Oh I just want to spend my day wearing Todd's T-shirt, so that I have a little piece of him at all times!" That's creepy, and believe me, Todd does not feel the same way about you. He's worried about baseball and the hot new receptionist at his office.
2. I am not a huge jewelry fanatic, but when I find a store I like, I fall in love. Such is the case with Metal Pointu's (252 Elizabeth St.). Lots of big metal jewelry that weighs a lot. So if you are into the pretty little delicate look, this is probably not the place for you. But if you want a bad ass ring, like the one pictured above, that sort of reminds you of a Sleestak, then I highly recommend it.

Did you know that it's RUN DMC's 25th Anniversary? How old do you feel now!?
So check it out: the Ultra Limited Edition Commemorative T-Shirt co-designed by Marc Ecko and Marco. Shirts will be on shopecko.com next week
My sources tell me that only 1,000 of these were made - and about 100 of them were sold last night at the industry where they were unveiled. I believe they are about $45 each.

F-Off Sarah Palin T-Shirts!
While Guerilla Shopper NYC is a family blog, sometimes you have to throw caution to the wind. This is one of those times. The GS is ever so fortunate to have cool and industrious friends, such as the talented lady behind the T-shirt you see pictured above. Here's the genesis of this brand new business. My friend couldn't have put it better herself:
the story: this palin bitch just pissed me off so i made myself a shirt-- just me, some transfer paper and a hot iron. i wore it out and the rest is history; never intended to sell them!
the shirts are natural-colored, 100% organic cotton (yes, i know global warming is not our fault-HA! but i thought it would be a good idea to take the enviro route nonetheless) with black ink. they're being printed locally (perhaps even some by me).
i plan to offer girlie and unisex tees, and even onesies for the littlest activists among us. buttons too. sizes will be the usual s,m,l,xl in both girlie and unisex.
they're $25 each, including shipping. buttons will be $2.
to order, email: iwantapalintshirt@gmail.com
taking cash & checks right now, but plan to get some ordering capabilities up on the site asap.

Get them while they still exist! I have a feeling they are going to be flying off the e-shelves.
Always looking out for your fashion interests,
GSNYC

Glarkware T-Shirts, hahaha

These T-shirts from Glarkware are funny. As is the way they encourage your purchase: "Let this year be the year you don't get arrested for public lewdness: buy a t-shirt and hide your shame. All shirts include two sleeves and a neck hole." I figured it must be a British company, but in fact they hail from the great state of Canada. Toronto, that is.
