I took the day off of work yesterday...got my hair done at Mario Diab salon, ate upstairs at La Esquina the cool little Mexican take-out joint on Kenmare (where a nice lady shared her food with me!) and then found my way to Anna by way of a new jewelry store on Elizabeth St: Metal Pointus. The jewelry in this store reminds me of my fave, Versani, but by way of Paris. This jewelry is not for the faint of heart - each piece makes a significant statement. And I want all of it! Talk about heavy metal.

Metal Pointus Jewelry: From Paris to Soho

The Classic: Painted Jean Jacket
Do you long for the days of yore when many a metal head sported the infamous painted jean jacket? Well, you may be in luck. The young lads above and I had a half-drunken brainstorm that we would bring that kind of sexyback to the masses -- utilizing the unbelievable skill and talent of Nelson DeCastro, the artist of this, the Metallica "Ride the Lightning" jean jacket painted in 1985. Twenty-two+ years later and the paint is still glowing strong!A renewed trend the kids don't even yet know that they need...or one that should remain in the decade of Reagan? You make the call...I'm taking orders (soon).
