Authentic Levi's Jeans: $19

Jump Start a Healthy Diet in '11

Need to get back into the groove?  Need to lose that layer?
I just got this dietary regimen from Mike Ambro, accomplished personal trainer and partner at Synergy on E. 31st St., and am going to try to follow it.  Try being the operative word.

Whole grain cereal / skim milk
1 whole egg
4 oz. juice

MEAL 2: 9 a.m.
1 apple (medium)

MEAL 3: 12-1 p.m.
Chicken, fish, turkey
w/ whole wheat pasta, potato, brown rice.
or if sandwich, use rye or pumpernickel bread

MEAL 4: 4 p.m.
1 apple (medium) or fat-free yogurt

MEAL 5: 7-8 p.m.
Chicken, fish, turkey, lean red meat
Tossed salad, steamed vegetables

Nighttime snack?  Apple sauce

ALSO: 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar 2x a day

Narnia: An Oldie But Goodie Vintage / Resale

At 161 Rivington St. resides Narnia, a vintage/resale shop of utmost quality that I had not visited for eons.  While there's something earthy and almost Southwestern about it, it works in the big City.  They're having a super mega sale at 129 Rivington right now, but I'd skip it if I were you and go to the mothership, (with your bank account healthy and strong).

Also, on a sidenote, the guys at Change of Season in the East Village have closed up shop, gone to Italy and will be back in action on January 22 with a whole new monster load of last quarter's high-end couture for less.  Mark your calendars!

Report From the Slush: Boots

Finding waterproof boots after a storm might require a GPS. Finding one that is stylish and on sale is a little bit like winning the lotto. Markdowns are plentiful on a plethora of peep-toe ankle boots, but impractical unless you have a Disney Prince to whisk you over puddles and snow drifts. Bergdorf prices beat out competitors in two picks and Neiman beats out Nordstrom and others. Prices vary across sites, so check carefully. A few for your perusal:

Bergdorf
Valentino Lace-Print Rain Boot Original: $206.00, originally $295.
3/4" heel with lugged rubber sole for traction.
Approximately 10"H.

Neiman Marcus
For the logo lovin' Tory Burch gal $90 boots; originally $150.

Cole Haan - Air Melanie Patent Rainboot $136, originally $228.
Looking for a dash of color and comfort? Nike-Air technology In some sizes available in four colors including loden, black, ironstone and aubergine.

Saks
Jimmy Choo for the Hunter addict who has everything. Now $181.99 (wow - 99 cents instead of $182) reduced from $455.00.

Zappos
Always offers a wide selection, especially on Aquatalia, one of the most stylish brands in this category. If you spot a style you love, look for price drops daily. Watch your mani, because watchful waiting can be a nail-biter, especially if there is only one left in your size and color combo. But sometime patience can prevail - I spotted an Aquatalia Vavoom black patent for $247.48 while many are still selling at $495.

Why is ALLSAINTS Clothing Sized so Damn Small?

People I know who wear a size 6 have to buy size 12s and 14s!  I can't fit into anything!  I guess we're all supposed to be Kate Mosses or smaller.
