Yes, I am on a tear today. I went to DSW this weekend, and perhaps it's down to a weird fashion time of year, but the inventory SUCKED. But the last time I went there I thought it sucked too. So I am wondering if they have turned into DSucksW. Half the shoes are Blowfish...Blowfish? What the hell kind of shoes are those? Well just go look at them, and you will see they are crap. What happened to the Cole Haans and Kenneth Coles? Not that they are the height of shoe fashion, but at least they are in the ball park. OH! And even better, I did spy a pair of Frye boots in black and brown and the price was NOT MARKED DOWN AT ALL. They cost $345 -- Retail! And their sneaker selection stinks too. I will go back one more time in the new season, and if they don't impress me, I think I will have to banish them to Marty's Shoe Warehouse land.

Lord & Taylor Shoe Sale Success Story
P.S. These Donald J. boots are freaking excellent. The other shoes you see pictured here are of the new high heeled-shoe shoes that all the kids are wearing. Think a modern day Little House on the Prairie. In this case Via Spiga and Tahari hooked me up.
I was also fortunate enough to have gotten an L&T gift card from my day job to put toward my purchase. So while I wouldn't describe my score as inexpensive, I feel somehow triumphant.

Fashion Overload: H&M, Frye, National Jean Co., Burberry

Wow, there's so much good stuff going on, I am just going to throw it out there for you in an blog-collage:
H&M is opening today at 42nd & Madison. Apparently there were lines at the doors in the wee hours.
Frye, those old sorta dyke-y boots of the 70s are kicking it large with some amazing styles and seemingly top-quality leather. I viewed several styles at Lord & Taylor last night.
The National Jean Co. is opening on the Upper East Side next month, and there's a grand opening party on October 11. See details on attachment.
And in closing, outside of the annoying "plaid" that has been beaten to death and then re-beaten, Burberry clothes really do kick ace. Check out the blue on the dress pictured above.

Letter to G.S.: Cowboy(girl) Boots

Dear G.S.:
I don't know when I became a cowboy boot girl, but evidently it was about 3 years ago when I bought my first pair. I have worn the shit out of them, to the point where its almost socially unacceptable to wear them anymore. I found a new snazzy Frye pair at Boot Barn-- and not only are they snazzy, but I found them discounted at $200!
They came yesterday & everything is legit. No muss, no fuss. I only wear them with jeans so no one will ever seen the hidden treasure beneath -- but I know it's there & isn't that what counts?
Put on your shit kickers & kick some shit Guerilla Shopper!;-)
